Veterinary SurgeonNick Rushton MA Vet MB MRCVS

Nick was born in Chapel-en-le-Frith, and grew up on a farm in the hills above Bollington. He qualified from Cambridge University Veterinary School in 1994, initially working mainly as a large animal veterinary surgeon before concentrating on small animals. Nick spent two years abroad working in Australia and New Zealand, before returning to settle in Bollington. He lives locally with his wife Hazel and children Georgina and Joseph.

Veterinary SurgeonMandy Theaker BVSc Cert SAD MRCVS

Mandy Qualified from Liverpool University in 1988 and attained a certificate in Veterinary Dermatology {skin disease} in 1992. Mandy lives in Bollington with her husband Demott and daughter Emily along with an assortment of creatures including tropical fish, 2 cats and 3 goldfish.. Mandi has been working with us since November 2003.

Veterinary SurgeonLiz Batt BVSc MRCVS

Liz qualified from Bristol University in 1989 and obtained a GP certificate in Feline Medicine in 2005. She lives just outside Buxton with 2 cats, 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue horses as well as her husband. Liz enjoys horse riding and in 2006 became British and English Veteran Fell Running Champion.

Veterinary SurgeonJoanna Clowes BVSc MRCVS

Jo lives in Furness Vale on her family's small holding with her husband Dave and son Alexander. She has an array of animals including pigs, sheep, poultry, George and Theo the dogs and Willow the cat. Jo joined the practice in June 2012

Veterinary SurgeonHannah Bennett BVMS MRCVS

Hannah qualified from Glasgow university in 2007. After working in a mixed prctice for 8 years she joined us in 2015. Hannah and her husband live on their working dairy farm with their 2 daughters, 3 dogs and 2 cats.

Veterinary SurgeonClaire Murray BVSc MRCVS

Claire joined us in September 2017. She qualified from Bristol in 2005 and has worked in both Equine and small animal practice. She lives in Macclesfield with her husband and son along with her rescue dog Pudsey

Practice ManagerSally Egerton RVN

Sally started her career as a Trainee Veterinary Nurse here at Bollington in 2005. She has since worked at a specialist referral practice and a Veterinary hospital where she gained valuable experince and became a fully qualified nurse. Sally returned to us in 2011 and lives locally with her husband Ste, children Chloe and Charlie, Merry the cocker spaniel, Jack the cat and a flock of chickens.

Head Veterinary NurseCarly Smith RVN SQP

Carly joined the practice in June 2012 after working at an orthapaedic practice and Out of Hours hospital for 5 years. She has 2 cocker spaniels Ellie and CoCo and 2 rescue rabbits. She enjoys walking and horse riding.

Veterinary NurseRachel Gibson RVN SQP

A fully qualified veterinary nurse since 1999, Rachel is also a qualified Pet Insurance Advisor and Pet Nutritional Advisor. She is a keen horse rider, she lives locally with her husband Jim and her sons Matthew and Jack and Poppy the Labrador. Rachel has been working with Nick since the start of Bollington Vets in March 2003.

Veterinary NurseSam Taylor RVN SQP

Sam joined the practice in 2011 and qualified as a Veterinary nurse after completing her training in 2014. She lives locally with her boyfriend and enjoys travelling, walking and music concerts.

Veterinary NurseLydia Royston RVN

Lydia joined the practice in 2013 and became a qualified Veterinary nurse in 2016. She lives locally with her various animals and has a keen interest in horse-riding.

Trainee Veterinary NurseZoe Findlay

Zoe joined he practice in 2015 and started her training in 2016. she lives locally wih her partner Dan and her rescue cat Wednesday

Trainee Veterinary NurseLeigh Paton

Leigh joined the practice in 2016 to expand our reception team, she has since moved to join our nursing team as a Trainee nurse

Head ReceptionistKate Gaskell SQP

Kate has been nursing animals since 1991 and is a Pet Health Councillor. Kate started at Bollington Vets shortly after we opened in 2003. She lives in Bollington with her partner Rick, her daughter Charlotte, Rick's son Jack and rescue dog Alfie, Bertie the cat and 2 hives of bees. She has a keen interest in horse riding, hill walking and motorbikes.

ReceptionistBriony Horton SQP

Briony joined us in 2007 as a Trainee Veterinary nurse and later transferred to the role of Receptionist. She has a degree in Animal behaviour and welfare. She lives in Bollington with her cat Sooty.




ReceptionistJenny Hughes

Jenny joined the team in September 2017, she has spent 3 years working as a receptionist in a busy small animal and exotic referral practice in Manchester. She lives in Hayfield with her partner Nathan, cat Petrie, rabbit Gilbert, and rats Snufkins and Toffle.



ReceptionistDenise Richbell

Denise joined our reception team  in 2015. She lives in Bollington with her husband Geoff along with their jack russells Dandy and Beano.

ReceptionistClare Quigley SQP

Clare has worked at the practice since March 2003 as a part time receptionist. She is a Pet Insurance Advisor and holds certificates in pet nutrition. She lives in Bollington with her husband, three daughters and  Dotty the dog, Clare enjoys walking, baking and reading.

ReceptionistJudith Burgess

Judith joined the practice in 2015 as an afternoon/evening receptionist at our Tytherington Branch. She enjoys walking her daughters dog Louis.
