Our Staff

Nick was born in Chapel-en-le-Frith, and grew up on a farm in the hills above Bollington. He qualified from Cambridge University Veterinary School in 1994, initially working mainly as a large animal veterinary surgeon before concentrating on small animals. Nick spent two years abroad working in Australia and New Zealand, before returning to settle in Bollington. He lives locally with his wife Hazel and children Georgina and Joseph.

Mandy Qualified from Liverpool University in 1988 and attained a certificate in Veterinary Dermatology {skin disease} in 1992. Mandy lives in Bollington with her husband Demott and daughter Emily along  2 cats Sue and Steve.. Mandy has been working with us since November 2003.

Hannah qualified from Glasgow university in 2007. After working in a mixed prctice for 8 years she joined us in 2015. Hannah and her husband live on their working dairy farm with their 3 children and various pets.

Claire joined us in September 2017. She qualified from Bristol in 2005 and has worked in both Equine and small animal practice. She lives in Macclesfield with her husband and son along with her rescue dog Pudsey and 3 cats Popcorn, Coco and FiFi.

We welcomed Ella to our team in Nov 2019. She graduated from Bristol university in 2017.

Ella has a keen interest in dentistry and pet exports.

Ella is keen hobby sheep farmer and has several fluffy Ryelands and Wiltshire horns and she lives with her  husband Alex and naughty rescue cat Adelaide. In her spare time she enjoys playing the saxaphone.

Catherine joined Bollington Vets in March 2021 and has a keen interest in surgery.  Along with Nick, she performs the laparoscopic operations and other more advanced procedures. 

Steph joined the team in April 2022. She graduated ifrom Liverpool University in 2019 she has a keen interest in medicine and imaging. Steph lives with her husband Sean and they enjoy walking with their Golden retriever Geoff

Emma joing the team in July 2023 . She graduated in 2020 and has an interest in small mammal medicine, with experienced gained in looking after her multiple pet rats. 

Leigh joined the practice in 2016 to expand our reception team, she then moved to join our nursing team and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2021. She became head nurse in June 2023. 

Carly joined the practice in June 2012 after working at an orthapaedic practice and Out of Hours hospital for 5 years. When she isn't busy with her family, partner James and 2 boys Finlay and Rory, she enjoys walking with her cocker spaniel Indy and horse riding.

A fully qualified veterinary nurse since 1999, Rachel is also a qualified Pet Insurance Advisor and Pet Nutritional Advisor. She is a keen horse rider, she lives locally with her husband Jim and her sons Matthew and Jack labrador Poppy, collie Tess and cats Sooty and Smokey. Rachel has been working with Nick since the start of Bollington Vets in March 2003.

We are very happy to welcome Sam back to the practice. Sam originally worked with us in 2005 but moved to the Netherlands in 2010 with her husbands work. They returned to the UK in 2019 along with 4 children and 3 dogs, a cat, horse and some chickens,  we are very happy she has found time in her busy schedule to rejoin the practice part time. 

Kate has been nursing animals since 1991 and is a Pet Health Councillor. Kate started at Bollington Vets shortly after we opened in 2003. She lives in Bollington with her partner Rick, her daughter Charlotte, Rick's son Jack and rescue dog Alfie, Bertie the cat and 2 hives of bees. She has a keen interest in horse riding, hill walking and motorbikes.

Briony joined us in 2007 as a Trainee Veterinary nurse and later transferred to the role of Receptionist. She has a degree in Animal behaviour and welfare. She lives in Bollington with her partner Chris, son Beau and cats Ron and Luna

Robina joined the reception team in 2022. she has a degree in animal behaviour. she lives locally and enjoys walking her 3 dogs , Hazel, Copper and Lyra up in the peak district. 

Leanne joined us in April 2019 as a Trainee Nurse fulfilling her passion to work with animals. She loves an active lifestyle walking in the Derbyshire Hills and playing tennis and mountainbiking.

Leanne qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2021 and has a keen intrest in surgery and Xrays as well as being the first to look after any wildlife that come in.

Jess joined the practice as a trainee nurse in September 2020 and qualified in 2024. She has a great interest in dog behaviour and runs very successful socilization clinics at the Bollington surgery to help your anxious dog become used to veterinary visits. She loves walking her Jack Russel Reggie.

Karen quallified as a Veterinary nurse in 2006 and joined us in 2021. She loves surgery and anaesthesia.

Karen lives in Bollington with partner Sam and son James and likes to keep fit and relaxing with Yoga.

Jenny joined the team in September 2017, she has spent 3 years working as a receptionist in a busy small animal and exotic referral practice in Manchester. She lives in Hayfield with her partner Nathan, 2 children and cat Petrie
