As an independent family owned practice, we are constantly investing in our building, our equipment and our staff to provide the highest possible veterinary medical and surgical care. We have extensive diagnostic and imaging facilities and staff trained and qualified to use them. Our building is purpose built to help us deliver this care whilst maintaining a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Medical and Surgical Equipment
We have a large purpose built and fully equipped surgery to deal with all medical and surgical cases. This includes:
The latest anaesthetic agents with comprehensive monitoring equipment
Digital X-rays, High Quality Ultrasound and Flexible Endoscopy to provide the most detailed images to make acurate diagnoses.
Laproscopic surgery including speys for quicker recovery times
Routine Surgery including castrate and spey of dogs, cats and small pets, lump removals, eye lid surgery, wound repair, etc
Emergency Surgery performed by our experienced vets for example splenectomy, intestinal surgery, pyometra
Specialist procedures in cardiology, orthopaedics and advanced soft tissue surgery eg BOAS performed by visiting veterinary specialists.
Electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood pressure monitoring
Dermatology Clinics with resident certified dermatologist Mandy Theaker, specialising in skin and ears
Dental care including dental xray and ultrasonic hygiene equipment

Hospitalisation
We have separate dog and cat kennelling to ensure a relaxed stay whilst awaiting surgery or receiving medical treatments or investigations.
Free nurse clinics
Offering advice and recommendations on dental hygiene, diet, pet insurance, flea and worm control.
Pet travel - AHC, EHC, OV66
We have vets who are DEFRA ‘Official Veterinary Surgeons’ enabling them to give rabies vaccinations and issue Animal Health Certificates (Europe) and Export Health Certificates including OV66 certification for travel to Australia. See further information under client factsheets
Parking
Bollington Veterinary Centre has a large car park situated immediately adjacent to the practice. The branch practice at Tytherington has a large amount of parking available shared with the shopping centre. Both clinics are located close to the Middlewood Way allowing for a pleasant walk to the Vets!
Home visits
Home visits are available during the day at an additional cost. Please bear in mind that it is usually beneficial for your pet to be seen at the surgery as animals are often more difficult to examine in their home environment, and it is impossible to bring all of our diagnostic equipment and drugs with us. However, we appreciate that there are certain occasions when home visits are appropriate. Home visits are also availbale for end of life / euthanasia.
Repeat Prescriptions
Legalisation requires that we must examine your pet routinely when they are on long term medication. This will normally be between 3 to 6 months depending on the drugs and the condition treated.
This is a reduced price consultation and is to ensure your pet is responding well to the medication and is not developing any side effects or other conditions. If you wish to order a repeat prescription we require 24 hours notice so we can have your medication available for you when you come to the practice. Unfortunately all drugs are non refundable once they have left the practice, however we can dispose of any unwanted medicines free of charge.
Payments & Insurance
Payment must be made at the time of treatment. We accept cash and most major credit / debit cards. Cheques are only accepted by prior arrangement. You may request an estimate of the likely cost of your pet’s treatment, please ask the vet in charge of your pet.
If you have financial concerns about the cost of your pet's treatment please discuss this with us before we start any treatment, there may be other options available. Insurance can provide you with peace of mind against any unexpected expenses. We can provide you with information about pet insurance, please ask at reception. Insurance claims will be paid direct to the client unless otherwise discussed with the vet.
